Khaled's hopes

Khaled is a 43 year-old Palestinian man from Al-Ghabisiyya village, northern Palestine. He lives with his wife and 2 year-old daughter in Burj El-Barajneh camp, Lebanon, in a house that consists of two rooms.

 Khaled was born blind, but he didn’t let his disability hinder him from achieving his dreams and becoming a creative person. He can play the electronic organ, compose poetry and write prose. In addition to these creative talents and abilities, he masters the iPad.

 He studied Arabic literature at University and is proficient in both Arabic and English. Here is what he told us:

 “Palestine will get her freedom, we are the owners of the land and we are the owners of a message. The liberation and victory will come, Insha’Allah.”
