Zakeeia's hopes

Zakeeia, 69, is a Palestinian woman from Al Kabri village. She lives in Burj El Barajneh Camp, Lebanon. Her husband and her daughter died in 1988 during the second Lebanon-Israeli war.

 Zakeeia lives in a small dilapidated house and her financial situation is difficult. She also suffers from diabetes, cholesterol and hypertension. Interpal is helping her to pay the costs of her monthly treatment ($100 per month).

 Every day Zakeeia reads and memorizes the Holy Qura’n. She wishes to return to Palestine and pray in Al Aqsa. “I would like Palestine to be free.”
