Palestine Verses: and the winner is…
Congratulations to Alex Burrett, whose poem To Palestine won the competition!
The 2nd place goes to The War-torn Child by Hafsah Aneela Bashir and the 3rd place to Bakr Boys by Aisha Mirza.
As promised, Alex’s poem will be included in our 20th Anniversary publication. Alex will also receive a hamper of Palestinian products and have an olive tree planted in his name in Gaza.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Logic for judging the competition and for his ongoing support for Interpal and Palestinians in need. And of course thanks to everyone who submitted poems: we were overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response to our first poetry competition. We received so many poems that we decided to create a poetry booklet! (more info soon)
Again, thanks to all the entrants, reading your poems was absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately there can only be one winner! We hope you all enjoyed the competition and we are incredibly grateful to each and everyone of you for taking part!
