The Land of the Prophets: Prophet Yusuf (pbuh)

“(Remember) when Yusuf (Joseph) said to his father: ‘O my father! Verily, I saw (in a dream) eleven stars and the sun and the moon, I saw them prostrating themselves to me.’”(Quran 12:4)

The story of Prophet Yusuf in the Quran is widely considered one of the most beautiful suras. Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) was born in Jerusalem and was one of the favourite sons of Prophet Yaqoub (pbuh). Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) became one of the most revered men in Islamic history.

‘Jubb Yussef’ is located in Galillee, and is considered to be the well which Prophet’s Yusuf (pbuh) was thrown in to by his brothers. He is thought to be the last to be buried at the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron in the occupied West Bank.
